Expanding education opportunities in Moulvibazar
With the generous support of the READ Foundation, UK Bangladesh Education Trust (UKBET) has expanded its Doorstep Learning Programme to Moulvibazar, bringing education and support to children engaged in domestic labour and other vulnerable children.
Through this partnership, UKBET is working across three locations in Moulvibazar, where community teachers provide structured learning sessions in literacy, numeracy and life skills. The programme offers children who have been excluded from formal education an opportunity to continue learning and prepare for their next steps.
Alongside education, UKBET works with families and communities to support children’s progression into formal schooling or vocational training and to address the financial and social barriers that can keep children in labour.
We are deeply grateful to the READ Foundation for supporting UKBET’s expansion into Moulvibazar. Their partnership is helping us reach more vulnerable children, extend access to education beyond Sylhet and create opportunities for children to build safer and brighter futures.
