Aug 17, 2026 | News, Publications

In 2025, UKBET continued to support children affected by child labour through education, skills development and family livelihood support, helping them build safer and more secure futures.

Thanks to your support:

  • 477 children participated in education and development programmes
  • 111 former child labourers were admitted to formal schools
  • 87 children enrolled in vocational training
  • 83 families received Family Futures micro-grants
  • 42 children received self-defence training
  • 54 awareness programmes were conducted
  • 36 internal teacher training sessions were delivered
  • More than 400 people received health screening for diabetes and high blood pressure

We also provided after-school tuition and monitoring to support children returning to formal education, helping them strengthen their learning and remain in school.

In 2025, UKBET strengthened its work through independent programme evaluation, expanded teacher development and the establishment of the UKBET Zakat Advisory Board.

We’re deeply grateful to our staff, trustees, teachers, partners and generous donors. With your continued support, we’re building a future where children can learn, develop their skills and grow up free from child labour.
